Sun Valley Adaptive Sports

Sun Valley Magazine nominates Sun Valley Adaptive Sports for improving the quality of life for persons with disabilities through sports and recreation • offering adaptive Nordic sking, Alpine skiing, and snowboarding lessons with skilled instructors and professional adaptive equipment • initiating year-round youth programs including an adaptive cycling component • running a specialized summer-long day camp designed specifically for children with disabilities, and a winter program including the Blaine County Schools Special Needs Ski Program • training skiers through their Adaptive Cross-Country Development Camp, one of only two approved pre-qualifiers for the United States Disabled Team • working to reintegrate disabled veterans to sports and recreation by creating the Annual Veterans’ Winter Festival in Sun Valley • participating as a chapter of Disabled Sports USA, the largest generalist disability organization in the world • developing a staff with over 40 years of education and experience in the adaptive sports and recreation field • changing lives for people with disabilities in the Wood River Valley since 1999.
