Ceremony: Sawtooth Valley Meditation Chapel
Reception: Private Home in Stanley, Idaho.
After marrying in an epically beautiful ceremony at the Sawooth Valley Meditation Chapel, Boise couple Katie and Daniel danced the night away in the rain surrounded by family and friends. This homespun Stanley, Idaho wedding was simple, hand-made, and romantic. Guests dined on a homecooked meal, danced in the rain, admired Italy mobiles (where the couple met), and left with a pack of Idaho postcards and love in their hearts to remember Katie and Daniel’s special day.

WHAT MADE YOUR WEDDING SO SPECIAL?
The wedding was so special because of everyone involved. We were married by Dana Marsh, the mother of the bride at the Sawtooth Meditation Chapel in Stanley. The reception was held at a large home in Lower Stanley on the 3 decks. It did rain but not until after we ate and had our first dance. All the guests spent the night dancing in the rain and having an amazing time. It was very low key but still so beautiful.
COLOR PALETTE?
We had a mix of cream and red for the tables. For flowers we had yellow sunflowers and red Gerber daisies.
HOW DID YOU DECIDE YOUR MENU?
A number of the guests were vegetarian and another group had gluten intolerance so we had to adapt the menu to fit those needs. We had butternut squash soup, tofu burgers with a mango salsa, chicken with pineapple, and French bread. It was prepared by our family and turned out perfect! It was a simple enough menu to put together up in Stanly but still delicious.
D.I.Y PROJECTS?
The mother of the bride made the table runners and cloth napkins. She also made heart mobiles cut out of a map of Italy. Each small touch was created by family and friends, from the wedding cakes to the favors.
BIGGEST CHALLENGE?
The biggest challenge was the food because we wanted to make it ourselves but we had to bring everything up to Stanley from Boise and prepare it ourselves.
TIPS FOR SOMEONE PLANNING AN IDAHO WEDDING?
Don’t focus so much on the small details. Everyone will enjoy the food, no matter what you make or how much it costs to make. A wedding is about gathering friends and family together to celebrate your love. Weddings always have some stress but don’t take it too seriously; it is supposed to be a fun celebration! Also, picking your photographer is important because they are going to be capturing the moments you will relive forever. We decided on O’Malley photographers after emailing back and forth and going through their website. We felt that this couple not only created amazing photos but they were incredibly open for discussion about the types of photos we wanted. You want to feel comfortable with your photographer and involve them in your experience!
