I’m personally going the more unconventional route and not, much to my mother’s and mother in law’s dismay, having flowers at my own wedding. I’m hand-making decorations out of different papers— and yes, I’m fully prepared to be making all these by myself for the next year. Realistically I might be recruiting my lovely bridesmaids in a panic at the last moment, BUT only time will tell.
I do however understand my mom’s disappointment around the lack of natures presence at my reception. Flowers are such a special addition and are generally an important part of the big day. They are an easy way to transform any space, add a touch of personal flair and brighten things up. Sun Valley has a wonderful selection of local florists all who do incredible work. If my budget allowed I’d probably get married in a green house full of orchids and lilies and all things living and beautiful, but cest la vie – and I’m excited to take the road less traveled. I do hope this directory helps any of you who will be carrying a colorful bouquet and walking over freshly tossed petals though. If there is any florist I’ve missed please let me know!
