Anna Kipp Lingbloom and Robert Andrew Parker

Anna Lingbloom and Robert Parker

September 15th, 2012

Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch

Although weddings in Sun Valley can get as ritzy as the rest, some of the most beautiful are the outdoor, down-to-earth and natural kind, just like Anna Lingbloom and Robert Parker's. With cowboy boots for the bridesmaids, a picturesqe ranch setting, subdued colors and a mountainous backdrop, the wedding had an undeniably western (and Idaho) feel, bringing together the natural beauty of the landscape and the elegance of a resplendent ceremony.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE SUN VALLEY?

Because this is where we live and where we fell in love. More specifically, we chose Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch because of the beautiful backdrop of the Sawtooth Mountains and the intimate setting at the ranch.

WHERE ARE YOU FROM?

Anna grew up in Bellingham, WA and Robert was born and raised in the Wood River Valley.

OCCUPATIONS?

Anna is a Project Coordinator for Carson International. Robert works for VP Companies as an Asset Manager.

HOW DID YOU MEET?

We met through our mutual friend, Eeva Turzian.

HOW DID YOU GET ENGAGED?

Robert proposed during a Nordic ski to Alturas Lake with champagne and a ring (of course!). It’s just one more reason why the Sawtooth Mountains are so special to us.

NUMBER OF GUESTS?

100

WHAT WAS YOUR WEDDING THEME?

We didn’t really intend on a having a theme, but since it was at the ranch, it definitely had a western feel.

ANY SPECIAL TRADITIONS?

Not really. Besides the typical wedding traditions like the first dance, we didn’t get too caught up in any others. We just wanted a relaxed atmosphere for us and the guests.

SONG THAT YOU WALKED DOWN THE AISLE TO?

A live acoustic version of “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz

SONG FOR YOUR FIRST DANCE?

“Carry You” by Dispatch

HOW DID THE NIGHT END?

With Robert being hoisted into the air on a large leather chair. There was also some lassoing of wedding guests, using what was most likely meant to be a piece of art… It was definitely a party!

WHAT MADE YOUR WEDDING SO SPECIAL?

Just being able to spend time with the family and friends we love, some of whom we hadn’t seen in years. The fact that we were able to rent the ranch for three days made it even more special, as we weren’t rushed to try and catch up with everyone. We feel so fortunate to have had everyone we love share such a special weekend with us in such a beautiful place.

WHAT WAS THE BRIDE’S FAVORITE MOMENT?

There were many special moments, but the one that has stuck with me is walking down the aisle with my dad. I couldn’t take my eyes off of Robert. I just felt like the luckiest person in the world.

THE GROOM’S?

Because we didn’t see each other up until the actual ceremony, it was amazing to see Anna in her dress for the first time walking down the aisle. Although much of the night seemed to pass too quickly, I can remember every second of her walking towards me, and how excited I was to be marrying her.

D.I.Y PROJECTS? GUEST FAVORS?

We are not very crafty people, but we did order a lot of items from Etsy. We gave gift bags to the guests staying at the ranch. These included a bottle of wine, along with a note from the bride and groom, some snacks and Sun Valley Mustard. Wedding guests received personalized wine glasses with the wedding date and our initials.

TIPS FOR SOMEONE PLANNING A SUN VALLEY WEDDING?

Stay relaxed! We never stressed over the planning and it made the whole process that much more enjoyable.
