Loudmouth Golf Snow Pants

A fan of just about anything loud, I have a bright green and pink ski jacket (one that gets remarks about both watermelons and Christmas), TWO purple ski jackets, one bright blue and tan jacket, vintage pink, purple and neon green ski poles and currently, green fingernails.

So when I first saw the new Loudmouth Golf snow pants, I knew they were for me.

Loudmouth Golf has a storied following in the golf world. Something I had no idea about before my first day of wearing them on Baldy, when not 15 seconds on the hill, I already got a shout-out from a 12 year-old snowboarder. “Hey! Yeah, Loudmouth!”

Then I read the story behind Loudmouth Golf and realized right away I knew my affinity for all things loud fits right in with their loud roots. Their mission states, “We all grew up watching Johnny Miller in his shocking red pants and white belt, and Jack Nicklaus sporting his plaid polyester Sans-A-Belts. But when the time came for us to golf decades later, what sartorial choices were we given? Khaki. Gray. Black. Where was the fun in that?” So apparently, in their own words, khaki golf pants just weren’t going to cut it for Loudmouth founder Scott Woodworth. Just like plain ski apparel just won’t cut it for me.

In early December, when I took my first pair of Loudmoth Golf snow pants out of the box and tried them on, I knew I better have my game face on for an afternoon of shredding because these pants were sure to be noticed. That’s one problem with my obsession for boisterous ski wear… prepare to be noticed.

And if you aren’t feeling up to impressing the grommets watching you from the chairlift or your thighs are burning from ripping groomers the day before (actual powder days seem few and far between this year), then you better stick with the black and the khaki. Loudmouth Golf snow pants, are not for the faint of heart.

Here’s a roundup of a few more things bright and bold we love for this ski season:

Orage Kelly: We like this one in Liberty Blue because it goes perfectly with our three year-old bright blue Orage pants we refuse to give up, but frankly, all the colors are bright enough for us. $240 mrsp/www.orage.com.

Scott Ruxin: In Velvet bloc plaid. Yes, this might be a men’s jacket but either we want to wear it ourselves or date the guy sporting it. Visit www.scott-sports.com to find your nearest retailer.

Loudmouth Golf: The Captain Thunderbolt design has been a big hit with us, but we love the Oakmont Houndstooth almost as much. Plus black and white would look so great with one of our bright jackets. $225 msrp/www.loudmouthgolf.com

Flylow Queen Hoodie: Our friend, Lauren, won this sweet new Flylow jacket in the raffle at the premiere of the KGB Productions’ film “Wyoming Triumph” in December. We hadn’t seen this new women’s jacket from Flylow in person yet and from its warmth to the rad pink color, we were pretty jealous. $185 mspr/www.flylowgear.com
