Elevation 486: A Taste of Twin Fall's Newest Hot Spot

Let's face it, everyone from the Wood River Valley needs to go to Twin Falls now and again. And unfortunately, most of our time is spent in the big box stores. Luckily for me, on a recent trip South, I enjoyed one of Twin Fall's latest hot spots. I stopped in on Ketchum's legendary Tom Nickel and his new restaurant, Elevation 486. Located right on the rim of the Snake River Canyon, in the new Magic Valley Arts Complex

What a pleasant surprise it was. Tom Nickel has done it again.

I was famished and needed a quick nibble to get me back home in a jiffy so I thought I would just drop in for a snack and head home.  Instead, I wandered out to the massive deck and realized, with views like that, this was going to be more than a quick stop. Immediately, I soaked in the breathtaking view of the Snake River Canyon with Perrine Bridge in the backdrop and found a seat to relax and put my feet up. I couldn't help but order a glass of Chardonnay to go with my jumbo prawn cocktail. The full menu was not yet available (I hate to admit it, Boss, but it was only 3:30!) but they did have the mid-day munchie menu full of mouthwatering choices.

With choices like the Grilled Wild Game Sausages with Sweet and Spicy Mustard, Baked Crab, Shrimp & Artichoke Dip with warm pita triangles or the Crispy Idaho Potato Skins, it was definitely hard to choose. But ultimately, my shrimp cocktail and Chardonnay were the perfect afternoon treat to compliment the views and the relaxation on "Southern Idaho's largest outdoor patio."

I can't wait to go back. And next time, forget Costco, I might make the drive just so I can take my husband to dinner at Elevation 486.
