4th of July Fun in Sun Valley

Rodeos, Ice Cream and Sparklers… Oh My!

The 4th of July is an occasion not only to celebrate the independence of our country, it’s a great excuse to spend some quality time with the family. There are lots of activities—from fireworks, to rodeos and ice cream socials—in the Valley surrounding the holiday, and all are sure to get kids and adults together for some family fun in our mountain town sun!

HAPPENINGS ON JULY 4th
  • Check out the Children’s Carnival from 9:00am to 4:00pm in the Farmer’s Market lot in Hailey. This fun event is hosted by Spirit in Motion Athletic Club and is a great way to tire out your tikes!
  • At noon, the Hailey 4th of July Parade is a must for the family. The parade goes until 1:30pm down Hailey's Main Street, and kids love to cheer on the wagons and horses as they ride by. You might even get a chance to have some Sun Valley local ice cream if the Toni's Ice Cream bike trailer is around.
  • 4th of July events in Sun Valley, Idaho! If you didn’t get enough ice cream at the parade, the Sun Valley Center for the Arts (SVCA) is sponsoring a 4th of July Ice Cream Social! Walk or bike over to the SVCA in Hailey after the parade to experience this free community event and summer tradition. There will be free root beer floats made by the United Dairymen of Idaho and locally brewed root beer.
  • Head over to Hailey's brand new rodeo grounds at 7:30pm for a serious Western-style celebration. The Sawtooth Rangers "Days of the Old West" Rodeo will be held on July 2nd, 3rd and 4th and is a fun family way to enjoy our mountain town culture.
  • No 4th of July celebration would be complete without the annual fireworks show. At dusk (9 or 9:30pm), check out the fireworks in both Hailey and in Sun Valley to button up your family-friendly 4th in the Valley this year.
MORE FUN AFTER THE 4TH
  • The Antique Fair and Market in Hailey is a great spot for parents to take a kiddo break and do some shopping. The fair runs from July 4th to the 7th, and is open from 9:00am to 5:00pm at the Roberta McKercher Park in Hailey.
  • Head up north after your shopping and check out Redfish Lake Live. From 6:00pm to 8:00pm July 5th, enjoy good music and family time on the beach at Redfish.
  • If you’re not up for driving in the holiday traffic, try out the Gallery Walk in Ketchum from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on July 5th and for great wine and art.
