The Harvest Festival is putting Sun Valley on the map as a foodie destination, highlighting all of the wonderful culinary delights that Idaho and the Northwest has to offer. Co-Founders Heidi Ottley and Ed Sinnott have searched the country and found some incredible chefs doing amazing things with local ingredients for this year’s festival. All of the demonstrating chefs are leaders in the Farm to Table ideaology and the festival’s acclaimed Sommelier will present how to taste wine. The following is a schedule of events for the weekend.
Restaurant Walk,
September 21st, 5pm-7pm

The festival kicks off with a tasting from one of our Idaho adventure companies and Ketchum’s own Frenchman’s Gulch Winery in the Ketchum Town Square. Attendees then venture through downtown Ketchum to sample eclectic fare from 19 participating restaurants and enjoy their fall offerings paired with a beverage of their choice. It is a moveable feast of the grandest proportion and a great way to sample some of Sun Valley’s finest eateries! Admission is $35 each.

Ensconce yourself in learning new techniques and culinary secrets from our four guest chefs as they prepare foods from across Idaho and the Northwest. Be enthralled by our guest Sommelier as she leads you through her world of how to properly taste, select and pair wines. The line-up this year includes TV personalities, authors and James Beard Lifestyle nominees Brent Ridge and Josh Kilmer-Purcell of the Fabulous Beekman Boys; teacher, author and chef, Jesus Gonzalez, formerly of Rancho La Puerta and currently the Culinary Director at Cups in La Jolla, CA; The James Beard Foundation 2010 Best Chef of the Northwest and the 2006 Food and Wines Best New Chef, Jason Wilson of Crush in Seattle; Jackie Quillen formerly “the Nose” at Christie’s Wine Auction Department in New York; and La Varenne Ecole de Cuisine graduate, Chef John Tesar, Executive Chef and owner of Spoon Bar & Kitchen in Dallas, TX. Each demonstration is one hour long followed by a sampling of the chef’s presentation paired with a wine from one of our sponsoring wineries.
