Novelist Jonathan Franzen speaks in Ketchum

On Autobiography & Fiction: An Evening with Jonathan Franzen.

Author Jonathan Franzen investigates the personal dynamics of fiction-writing by addressing four perennial questions that novelists are asked:  Who are your influences? What time of day do you work, and what do you write on? Do your characters simply take over at some point? And is your fiction autobiographical?

Franzen’s newest book, Freedom, has been called a masterpiece and a Great American Novel.  His 2001 novel, The Corrections, was an enormous international bestseller, with translations in 35 languages, American hardcover sales of nearly three million copies and nominations for nearly every major book prize in the country.

Time:  Sunday, October 9th: 6:30pm

Location:  Church of the Big Wood, Ketchum

Tickets: $25/person ($35 for nonmembers, $15 for students). Can be purchased at www.sunvalleycenter.org, or at the Sun Valley Center for the Arts in Ketchum.
