The 2011/2012 Ski Season is just about in the books. What was your favorite event of the season? We are already getting nostalgic for ski races, après events, Powder Prom and everything else awesome that the ski season brings. But just because the snow melts, doesn’t mean the fun stops! This week is full of skiing, parties, the theater and even a little mountain biking! Check it all out here in the Cheat Sheet, with the Editor’s Picks of the best things to do around the Valley this week.


Barking Spider Race in Boise: A Qualifier for National Champs!

Wild Rockies’ spring opener features a fun and easy, 9.2 mile lap course with rolling terrain and some great trails and sand-washes. The cross-country mountain bike course includes the famous "Skateboard Park" descent, a twisting, turning tunnel of fun. It also has some really fun singletrack and two-track sections, as well as some short climbs and descents. This race is one of the few races in Idaho that qualify for entry into the National Championships held in Sun Valley!  Cross country mountain bike race starts at 12:30 PM. See you there!

When: Saturday, April 14th. Racing starts at 12:30 PM.
Where: The event operates at the Hemingway Butte OHV Area. (17 miles Southwest of Nampa, Idaho, off of Highway 45. At Reynolds Creek Rd.)

Baldy Spring Sun Fest: Top to bottom skiing, races and parties!

The 2011-2012 ski season is coming to a close and Sun Valley is going out with a bang! Come celebrate with all the other locals this weekend with top-to-bottom skiing (on both sides of the mountain!), races, deals, music and BBQ’s. Take advantage of the buy-one get-one free ticket deal, kids’ adventures in the Adventure Trails, DJ McClain at River Run, the Balderdash Fun Race (including a fire-hose slalom, foot race and tubing run to the finish), the musical stylings of Old Death Whisper, the Lookout Cookout at Lookout Lodge and retails deals at Pete Lane’s and the Brass Ranch.

When: This weekend! Saturday and Sunday, April 14th-15th. All day!
Where: Bald Mountain. Everywhere!

Open House at the Community Library Young Adult

Welcoming teens and patrons to learn about the new room for the Community Library Young Adult (TCLYA), to celebrate Teen Literature Day, and to share a toast of sparkling cider.

When: Tonight! Thursday, April 12th. 5:00 PM.
Where: The Community Library

The Goldmine Liquidation Sale: Everybody loves the Goldmine!

Come check out some of the best deals of the year at the place in town with the best deals all year. The Goldmine, which benefits the Community Library in Ketchum, is one of the best thrift stores in the country. So come by and check out their spring Liquidation Sale! There are only three days left including the infamous Bag Sale on Saturday!

When: Today and tomorrow from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Saturday’s Bag Sale is only from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM!
Where: The Goldmine, Ketchum.

The Phantom Tollbooth: Theatre for Young Audiences 2012

The classic young adults’ book, The Phantoom Tollbooth, is coming to the local stage! Don’t miss this incredible production at the NexStage Theater starting tonight through Sunday.

When: Thursday to Sunday, April 12th to 15th. 7:00 PM. Saturday and Sunday will have 3:00 PM matinees.
Where: NexStage Theater, Main Street, Ketchum.
